It was a full week at St. Paul Lutheran. The Pre-K through 3rd Sunday School classes enjoyed some music with Beth before heading into the classrooms to cover the Disciples (Luke 5:1-11; 8: 1-3) and The Transfiguration (Luke 9:28-36).
The 4th-6th grade Sunday School students discussed “Sharing” (Matthew 14:13-21) and Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand.
Many came out for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner. Bella Teel was the lucky shrove-finder prize winner!
Our God Squad kids enjoyed a delicious meal courtesy of Nicole Darling and Mary Terry. Liz and RoxAnn surprised the younger class with a make-your-own Valentines craft and discussed “Jesus Heals” (Luke 4:38-44).
Tom’s class also continued with Jesus’ Ministry and “Jesus Heals” and discussed the ways God calls upon us to be in his ministry. Tom’s class is collecting spare change for the food pantry shopping trip and this week’s students were challenged to complete random acts of kindness. I think this applies to all our children. What is our role in God’s Ministry? Let’s continue to find ways to extend a helping hand to those in need!
We are collecting toiletry, household and personal hygiene items for the PAW Pantry this upcoming Sunday and Wednesday, but feel free to drop items off anytime. The donation bin (in the main hallway) is looking pretty bare so if your kiddo hasn’t brought their items in yet and wishes to do so, every little bit counts!
We need volunteers for the nursery. Parents, if you don’t feel up to helping out (you already do so much) consider whether one of your children may benefit from the experience. We will always staff adult supervision, but it’s great baby-sitting training and the littles sure think that the older kids are pretty cool!
As we think about adding some programming, I want to keep our older kids (who want to be involved and have aged-out of certain activities) as mentors to the younger kids.
