I hope everyone enjoyed the snow! I think the kids loved having a couple days off school. It’s always nice to have a mid-week break every now and then!
This week, our fourth through sixth grade Sunday school class covered “Having a Healing Faith” and discussed Matthew 8:5-17 and the process of healing through a relationship with Jesus. The Pre-K through third grade classes started off with some music with Beth and then covered Jeremiah 1:4-10 “God uses helpers.” Scott took the high school youth kids to the residence home and God Squad was cancelled due to the weather.
We are mulling over some additional children’s programming at the church and/or some extra summer programming. If you have an idea, or something you feel our program is missing, PLEASE do not hesitate to email your concerns, questions or ideas/proposals to email@example.com or talk to me in person. I love all feedback!
Service project: It recently came to my attention that the Paw Pantry at the middle school struggles with non-food donations, so let’s have our St. Paul kids contribute! Government funds don’t provide personal hygiene or household products to the pantry and they are always the first to run out.
This is a great lesson for the kids. We often take these every day, essential items for granted!
Please bring your donations to Sunday School or God Squad over the next two weeks so we can have a valuable discussion with the kids regarding this project. If your child doesn’t attend those events and you still wish to donate there will be a box in the front hallway for donations starting this Sunday (anyone can donate). Items needed include but aren’t limited to: laundry detergent, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bodywash, feminine products, Kleenex and dish detergent. If you use it at home, they most likely need it!
Tom’s God Squad class will still collect spare change over the remainder of God Squad for their food pantry grocery trip, so don’t feel pressured to contribute to both if you cannot. This is more of an immediate need that I was hoping to fulfill over the next two weeks. Even a tube of toothpaste or a stick of deodorant helps…every little bit counts!
