Christmas UPDATE! Important!

Hello all!

I can’t believe we are already to Christmas season!  This fall just flew by for me!
REMINDER:  Christmas program dress rehearsal is this Saturday morning (9-11 older kids. 9-10 younger kids)…I’ll have snacks ready.  If you plan to donate cookies, mini muffins, donuts, cinnamon rolls or fruit for Saturday and Sunday morning please bring them to the church by Saturday morning and label them.  That way, I know if I need to shop before the Sunday morning festivities.  On Sunday morning the kids will perform at both services.  It’s a long morning, so I’ll have the food, fun and crafts to keep them happy in between services.  Beth and Alan have done an amazing job with these kids as usual, they deserve mega KUDOS for their patience, love, energy and time!!!  This Christmas program wouldn’t happen without them and we are so grateful!

Our God Squad Christmas party (all St. Paul kids are invited and encouraged to come) is this Wednesday from 5:15-6:30.  We will have dinner first and then watch a movie in the sanctuary.  It’s a PAJAMA PARTY!  Each kid will go home with a fun ornament and goody bag so if your child is attending the party, but doesn’t regularly attend God Squad please let me know if possible so I can make sure to make them an ornament and bag. I always have extra just in case, but if you have time, let me know!

I have so enjoyed the kids this fall and I’m sure I’ll be dying to get them back after Christmas, but I wish you all a very relaxing rest of December.  A break from activities is always nice for parents, I know this!
See you Sunday!!

An IMPORTANT message from Beth Miller below… Parents, if your kids can make it, it’s very important that they do so as they will practice up front with singing and work on speaking lines!

Hello all!  We are making great progress with the Christmas Program. We are short a few practices from last year, so we will be having an extra practice this Sunday during the Sunday School hour. Practice will start at 9:45 and run about half an hour (little kids will practice regular time then have class). Your participation is much appreciated, as speaking lines will also be handed out to the little kids.
As always, please let Beth know if you have any questions!

Now, a message from Courtney:  I need a few parent volunteers for the day of the dress rehearsal (next Saturday morning) to help get the kids into their costumes, etc.   I’ll also need cookie, mini-muffins or fruit donations for the day of the program on Dec.11 (please bring to church and label by Dec. 10). We have a lot of kiddos and parents around in between programs so it’s nice to have snacks. Please contact me if you’re willing to help!   So excited to see the finished program!   Beth, Alan and the kids have been working so hard!  Thank you to everyone!!

Hello St. Paul Parents!

We plan to spend this upcoming Sunday School hour decorating the children’s rooms and tree for Christmas!  Please send your kiddo with a non-expensive ornament to put on the tree with their name on the back.  This can be their special ornament that we will pull out each year to decorate the tree.  I’ll have some there too just in case!  If you have any decorations that you’re willing to donate, we will take them.  This is just something fun for the kids…it won’t be anything magnificent but they will love it!

The 2nd-6th graders continue to practice for the Dec. 11 Christmas Program on Wednesday nights. These kids will resume regular God Squad activities following the program. This year’s program will again take place during both services on the 11th. It’s a long morning for the kids, so I will have snacks and activities to keep the kids entertained between services on program day.  The Pre-K through first grade kids are practicing during the first 15 minutes of the Sunday School hour.

Our St. Paul kids, staff, Lonna Nielsen and volunteers helped pack over 77 boxes for Operation Christmas Child this year!!  We look forward to more service and giving from our kids in the near future!  Our St. Paul kids were also able to pack a few boxes with items purchased with some of the Childrens Offering funds.  Those quarters sure do add up!

The St. Paul kids Christmas party will be Wednesday, Dec. 14 during the God Squad time from 5:20-6:30.  All St. Paul kids are welcome to attend this event.  If you have a St. Paul kid who would like to attend and hasn’t attended God Squad or play practice just let me know so I can make sure to have a goody bag made for them!

Also, please save the date for our second St. Paul Parents’ Night Out on Feb. 11 from 5-8 p.m.  We had a conflict with the December date and just couldn’t make it work.  Just like last time, the charge is only $5 per child and we will have dinner, crafts, games, dancing and a movie in the sanctuary to keep your kids busy!  Take some time to have a Valentines Day date or just RELAX.  This was such a fun event in May and I look forward to doing it again.  A sign up will be posted soon!
