Epistle #82 Friday Update!

1.  Look for the St. Paul Worship Service opportunity coming to you first thing this Sunday morning in Epistle #83. Pastor Brian will be sharing a message on Matthew 14:22-33, with the title of: “Are You Seeing Ghosts?”

2.  Congratulations to the Winterset Girls 4A State Softball Champions! On the team include our own Bailey Acton, Avary Darling, and Halle Hoefing.

3.  Get ready for the launch of our new beginnings with Pastor Ioan! Pastor’s first Sunday morning message shared with St. Paul Lutheran will be on September 6th. We are lining up two guest preachers who will be sharing sermons with the St. Paul Lutheran family in preparation (August 23rd and 30th) whom we will be introducing to you in next week’s update! Keep Pastor Ioan and family in prayer for safety and health during these challenging COVID times, as well as for guidance in home selling and purchasing, packing and travelling!

PRAYER FOR ST. PAUL AND PASTOR IOAN
God of Love, You are with us in every transition and change. As we enter into this new era with excitement and even some anxiety, we recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love. We thank you for the gifts, talents and skills with which you have blessed us. We thank you for the experiences that have brought us to this moment. We thank you for the work of others that gives breadth and depth to our own work. Be with Pastor Ioan and his family as they are busy these days in preparation for such change in their lives and new beginnings in partnership with us, for the sake of your gospel. Be with us all as we move forward, rejoicing with you and supporting one another. We ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

4. Pastor Brian’s Final Sunday Message will be coming up on Sunday, August 16th as he wraps up his year of intentional interim ministry work with us. Pastor and his wife, Sheri, would like to say farewell and thank the members of St. Paul for the opportunity to serve in partnership with us. We know that many of you have expressed interest in expressing appreciation for them. Thus, we will be holding a “drive through” farewell reception for them on the 16th from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the front door of the church. We invite members to drive to the church and have a brief distanced visit to say farewell to them as our transition chapter comes to a great conclusion.
