2019 Lenten Midweek Theme: “Artisans of the Crucifixion”

This year our Lenten midweek focus features monologues of five craftspeople and their unique perspectives on the events of Jesus’ crucifixion. Please come and enter into Christ’s Passion through the eyes of those who played important, yet background, roles in the story.

Changes to SCRIP

Our SCRIP program is in need of a champion! Through SCRIP churches and nonprofits may offer store cards for purchase in exchange for a percentage of return. The St. Paul SCRIP program has been in effect for many years, but will be discontinued soon in the absence of a manager. If you are interested in leading SCRIP, or in finding out more about the program, please contact Meisha or Pastor Joel at 462-4270.

Shrove Tuesday Thank You!

Special thanks go to all who served, stirred, flipped, and poured for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner this week. The food was delicious, and our attendance was impressive! All proceeds support the Furniture Ministry. Thank you!

“Our Faith in Film”, A Special Lenten Series

This special film series is an ecumenical and missional project of Winterset’s churches in cooperation with The Iowa Theater. Thank you for your very generous support of this project. At this time, we have six participating churches. The goals are to share our faith during the season of Lent through well-chosen films, promote the unity of our faith communities, and provide social ministries to Madison County citizens.

In partnership with The Iowa, these films have been selected:

April 10, 7:00 pm Way Back Wednesday – King of Kings
April 11, 7:00 pm Contemporary Film – Risen
April 12, 7:00 pm Family Friendly – The Prince of Egypt
April 13, 1:00 pm  The Classic – The Ten Commandments

All showings are free and open to the public.  Good will offerings will be taken at each showing. Canned goods, paper products, and personal care items for all ages will be collected for Matura Madison Outreach. Cash and check donations will be split among CRISP, Matura Madison Outreach, and the Furniture Ministry program.
